About Nursing Times

Nursing Times has been supporting nurses for over 100 years

Since its launch in 1905, Nursing Times has published articles to help nurses to improve their practice, kept them up to date with news on nursing and healthcare policy and practice, and supported them in their career development.

More recently, the Nursing Times website has grown into the largest nursing website outside the US. In addition to daily news and regular opinion it contains a clinical section that provides access to more than 6,000 double-blind peer reviewed articles on all aspects of nursing.

The website also includes Nursing Times CPD Zone, which offers subscribers a range of user-friendly online learning units on fundamental aspects of nursing care, an online portfolio to store evidence of continuing professional development and activities required for revalidation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

In addition, the website has a student section that is dedicated to helping, guiding and informing the future of the profession during their education journey. There, you can also read regular blogs from our latest group of Nursing Times student editors.

In April 2023, the Nursing Times Archive was launched, featuring digitised versions of print issues of Nursing Times published between 1905 and 1987. Readers can discover how nursing has changed over the decades with each issue containing stories, features and even adverts offering a fascinating insight into the profession and much more.

Nursing Times also supports nursing through its events

Nursing Times runs a series of events throughout the year, which currently includes three awards ceremonies and a programme of summits, forums, webinars and job fairs. They comprise a mix of physical, virtual and hybrid events.

The Student Nursing Times Awards, which focuses on education, takes place in the spring, followed in the autumn by our largest event, the Nursing Times Awards, and then the Nursing Times Workforce Summit & Awards, which combines a conference and an awards ceremony.

During the year, we also run two series of online webinars and forums on the separate themes of digital technology and clinical skills.

Meanwhile, for those interested in careers or seeking a new job, Nursing Times Careers Live takes place around the country, featuring employers, a programme of inspiring speakers and much more.

Industry recognition

Nursing Times and the team of people who work on its content and events have won many national awards in recent years. In particular, its campaigns to fight on behalf of nurses, and products and content to help support nurse education and learning have been highly commended and nominated.

Nursing Times is also listed by the International Academy of Nursing Editors in its Nursing Journals Directory.
