We have asked a range of charities and other relevant organisations around the UK to support the Covid-19: Are You OK? campaign.

The Laura Hyde Foundation, a charity that aims to improve access to mental health support for clinical staff, has signed up to support the campaign through the following statement:

The Laura Hyde Foundation supports the Nursing Times Covid-19: Are You OK? campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the potential long-term impact of working through the Covid-19 crisis on nurses’ mental health and wellbeing (and that of other staff and pre-registration students), and to ensure they have access to sources of formal and/or informal support.

Liam Barnes, founder and trustee chair of the Laura Hyde Foundation, said: “The need to continue to highlight the issues that our nurses face with their mental health is of paramount importance.

“It will allow help to be given to those who need it, it will help de-stigmatise mental health amongst our nursing community, it will continue to challenge the decision makers to prioritise this topic and most importantly of all save lives. We are therefore a strong advocate of the ‘Are you OK?’ campaign and its objectives.

“Mental health for your patients is always considered a priority however so is your own. Let’s start prescribing for yourself what you would for your patients.”
